Make a Map - Mobile

The Make a Map module allows you to create new maps for analysis using available data from a set of layers provided by the City of Columbus.

To open the Mapping tool, tap Make a Map from the home page. This action opens the Map Viewer.

NOTE: The first time you access the AIMS application you will need to grant permission for the browser to use the native location services.

The Map Viewer is an interactive tool used to visualize and explore data. Results can be shared with other named users within your organization.

Explanations of the numbered callouts appear beneath the illustration with links to more information.

	"Waffel"
	To optimize the visibility of the map, the Layers, Legend, and Tools are contained in the left hand sidebar.

	Zoom in/out
	Zoom and in out to view different extents of the map.

	Home
	The Home icon refreshes the map to include the greater City of Columbus area.

	Basemap
	AIMS offers a list of basemaps to select from. This includes basemaps from Esri and the City of Columbus. Basemaps can be used as foundation layers for your maps.

	Locate your Position
	The Locate button allows you to find, track, and display the location for the device they are currently using while within Map Viewer.

The AIMS Mobile Menu provides access to Apps, Links, and Help.

	Search
	Navigate to a specific address or place using the Search tool.

	Measure
	Allows you to measure distance and area.

	Coordinate Conversion
	Lets you determine the coordinates of a location or find a location based on geographic coordinate values. For details, see: Measure Distance and Measure Area.

	Sketch
	Lets you place shapes and text on the map as annotations. For details, see: Sketch.

	Share My Location
	Share the coordinates of your location using your device's native sharing functionality.

	Share Map
	The Share Map tool creates a URL of the current configuration of the data in the current map extent in the map viewer.
