When the sidebar is visible, you will see the Layers tab that shows groups and the layers within them.
An example of the Layers tab appears below. Explanations of the numbered callouts follow the illustration.
Feature
An object (for example, an asset) that has a geographic location and a collection of properties.
Layer
A collection of similar features, such as: Work Orders, Traffic Signals, Road Centerlines, and County Boundaries).
•Unlike the desktop version of the AIMS application, you cannot reorder any layers or groups.
•My Layers is NOT available in the mobile version of the AIMS application. Therefore, you cannot add any data that is local on your Smart phone or Tablet device. NOTE: When opening a shared map that has My Layers data, the Group My Layers will appear in the layer list along with the data. You still will not be able to add any local data.
Group
A collection of similar layers, such as: Assets, Operational and Administrative boundaries).
You can make layers visible or invisible on the map. Follow the numbered instructions beneath the illustration to work with layer visibility.
Expand Side Panel
Tap the waffle in the upper-left corner to expand the side-panel.
Layers
Tap the Layers tab to open it (if it is not already open).
Expand Group
Tap the arrow next to a Layer Group to expand it. In this example, the group is: Assets.
Layer Visibility
Tap the layer Visibility icon (eye icon) to make the layer display in the Map Viewer. The eye icon now looks like this to indicate the layer is visible:
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add more visible layers to the Map Viewer.
NOTES:
•If you re-click the eye icon for a layer, the layer will no longer be visible and the icon will change to:
•If you turn off visibility for the entire group , none of its layers will be visible.
Collapse Side Panel
Tap the waffle to collapse the side-panel to view the features in the Map Viewer.
