Print/Export: Map Only Option

The Map Only option does not use any map template. It only exports the map image itself to the file format that you choose.

Follow the numbered instructions beneath each illustration to export the map image only.

	Print/Export Icon
	Click the Print/Export icon to view the Export dialog and select the Map only tab.

	Map Only Tab
	The Map only tab lets you specify the format for the map you are exporting.

	File Name
	Type a File name that is meaningful and describes the contents. This name is used when the map image is created. The file extension is related to the file format you select, as listed below.

Select File format from drop-down list to set format of the output file for the map:

• AIX

•EPS

•GIF

•JPG

•PDF (default)

•PNG32

•PNG8

•SVG

•SVGZ

•TIFF

	Width and Height Settings
	Enter the Width and Height values in pixels. These values set the height and width of the map image. The values can be changed with the up/down arrows located within each box. You can also type a specific pixel value.

	Width, Height, and "Switch" Icon
	This icon switches the values between Width and Height:

	Show Print Area
	If you turn this on, the map will show only the area that will be displayed in the template; the rest of the map on the screen will appear dark.

	Export Button
	Select Export to generate a file in the format specified in the File format field. The name of the file is the name provided in the Title box. NOTE: Once you click Export, the Exports tab automatically opens where you can then look at the file and download it. For details, see: Print/Export: Exports.in the File name field.
