BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Make sure you clicked Make a Map from the AIMS Home page and are now looking at the Map Viewer.
A. Display the Data Table
Follow the numbered instructions under the illustrations to work with the data table.
Expand/Contract Arrow
Click the Expand/Contract arrow at the bottom-left corner of the Map Viewer to expand the screen:
•Once you do so, the arrow changes:
•There is now a blank area beneath the Map Viewer.
Choose Layer
Select a layer from the drop-down layer list.
NOTE: Only layers visible in the map are available in the drop-down list. If the layer you're looking for is NOT in the drop-down list, find the layer in the Layers tab and make is visible.
View Data Table
The data table now appears; it contains the data from the selected layer and honors any filters that are set for the layer. NOTE: The drop-down list now contains only the layer you selected.
Change Layer
To select a different layer, click the X next to the currently selected layer. Now all visible map layers will appear in the drop-down list so you can select another layer.
B. Apply Various Options Once the correct layer is displayed in the Map Viewer with its data appears in the data table, you can take a variety of actions with the data table by using various options.
Follow the numbered instructions below the illustration to exercise the various options.
Show/Hide Columns
Click this option for a list of the names of all the tabular columns currently in the data table.
•By default, all column names have a check mark next to them; they are visible in the data table.
•Click any check mark to remove it so the column will NOT appear in the data table. Click again to reinstate the check mark.
Options Button
Click the Options button: You now see a drop-down menu that includes items 2-7 listed below.
Refresh Data
Click this option to refresh layer so it includes the most recent feature additions (if any).
Clear Selection
Click this option to removes selected features from the current selection set. NOTE: This option is only available when one or more records are selected.
Show Selection
Click this option to show only the selected rows on the table. All other rows disappear. NOTE: Click the Show All option to see all the rows again.
Export Selection to CSV
Click this option to export the selected rows to a .csv file.
Zoom To Selection
Click this option to pan and zoom to a new map extent that includes the current selected features. Each time you click Zoom to Selection,the map will continue to zoom into the selected features.
C. Download Data
The data you see on the map and in the table can be downloaded in a variety of formats.
Follow the numbered instructions below the illustration to download that data.
Download Button
Click the Download button located in the upper-right corner of the table just above the ellipsis
File Formats
From the drop-down menu, select the preferred format of the file containing the exported data: CSV, File Geodatabase, KML, or Shapefile
The data is downloaded locally and the file is given the name of the layer you're exporting.
