Welcome to AIMS, Columbus' Asset Information Management System!
This web-based application provides access, mapping, and reporting on City of Columbus assets. It is a diagnostic tool that integrates information from multiple business systems to provide both short-term and long-term planning support across the City. The system also supports critical City functions associated with public service, equitable decision-making, economic development, regulatory and compliance management, safety and mobility, and transportation system management.
The online Help system walks you through all the AIMS modules that are accessible from the Home page:
•Explore Analytics: Module of the AIMS Application contains maps reports with valuable data insights. Filters can be applied in the condition map, and are applied throughout the analytics module in various Power BI dashboards (reports.)
•View Existing Maps: Module allows you to explore existing maps from the map library.
•Make a Map: Module allows you to create new maps for analysis using available data from a set of layers provided by the City of Columbus, or by adding your own data.
•Data Glossary: Module provides access to the metadata in a dataset. Metadata provides information about a dataset’s properties and characteristics, including its structure, format, content, and context. By using the search filters, it is simple to locate data and access the metadata associated with the selected dataset.
•Access Data: Module allows you to export data to local file formats (CSV, File Geodatabase, and Shapefile). Data must be available for export in Portal for ArcGIS.
There is even a module for those of you who are accessing AIMS through your mobile device:
•Mobile Help: AIMS has versions for both Smart phones and tablets.
We encourage you to use online Help whenever you run into something you do not understand.
